Extended Hunza & Skardu Tour

Tour Overview

An extended Hunza and Skardu journey with extra time at every stop. In Hunza you will see Baltit and Altit forts, Attabad Lake and Passu; in Baltistan you will visit Shangrila, the Sarfaranga Cold Desert, Shigar Fort and the Khaplu Palace.

You will stay in hand-picked hotels and heritage guest houses, enjoy daily breakfast, and travel with experienced local drivers throughout the journey.

Tour Itinerary

Arrive in Gilgit and drive along the Karakoram Highway to Karimabad in Hunza. Check in and relax with mountain views.

Visit the Baltit and Altit forts and the old village lanes, then enjoy sunset at Eagle's Nest viewpoint.

Take a boat ride on Attabad Lake, view the Passu Cones and cross the Hussaini suspension bridge, with extra time to walk around Passu village.

Drive via Gilgit to Skardu along the Indus river and check in to your hotel.

Visit Shangrila Resort and Upper Kachura Lake in the morning, then spend the afternoon at the Sarfaranga (Katpana) Cold Desert for sand dunes with snowy mountain backdrops.

Drive along the Shigar river to Shigar Valley. Visit the 400-year-old Shigar Fort and the Bab-e-Shigar gateway. Overnight in Shigar.

Continue east to Khaplu. Visit Khaplu Palace (Yabgo Khar), the Chaqchan Mosque and the apricot orchards along the Shyok river.

After breakfast, drive back to Skardu with photo stops, then your airport transfer.
